Verniflam® AITHON F3
Verniflam® AITHON F3 is a non-downgrading finishing product of the Verniflam® AITHON PV33 intumescent fireproofing system for fireproofing wood on the surface. Verniflam® AITHON F3 can be applied to wooden substrates of 8 mm or more, on areas such as walls or ceilings, that are not subject to mechanical stress. Verniflam® AITHON PV33 is not suitable for floors or stairs for example.
It is a solvent phase varnish.
Packaging in 0.5kg, 4kg and 20kg cans.
To date, the reaction to fire documents of Verniflam® AITHONF3 relate only to the use of Verniflam® AITHONF3 as a top coat of Verniflam® AITHONPV33.

Verniflam® Aithon F3 is used as a protective layer of the Verniflam® Aithon PV33 intumescent varnish.
Used with the intumescent Verniflam® Aithon PV33, it fire-classifies wood and wood-based materials inside the E.R.P. It is also suitable for improving the fire resistance of wooden elements.
Reaction to fire:
- 300 g/m2 Verniflam® Aithon PV33 primary intumescent (in two passes).
- 40 g/m2 Verniflam® Aithon F3 Top Coat (in one pass).
Consumption refers to fire behaviour according to EN 13501-1.
Fire resistance:
- from 300 g/m2 to 1150 g/m2 Verniflam® Aithon PV33 intumescent primer (in several passes).
- from 40 g/m2 to 70 g/m2 Verniflam® Aithon F3 Top Coat.
Consumption refers to fire resistance according to ENV 13381-7 and EN 13501-2.
Application with a brush, roller or spray gun. May require dilution with a product for solvent-phase finishes.
