Hydroflam® TN12

Ref: HYDROTN12

Hydroflam® TN12 is a flame retardant that delays ignition and limits the spread of flames in fabrics of natural origin such as cotton, burlap, velvet, damask, muslin, etc.

Its exceptional effectiveness requires small quantities. Its penetration capacity is very strong and facilitates its application.

Cotton: M1 classification according to NF P92-512 standard. FCBA

Linen PV: M1 classification according to NF P92-512 standard. PV du FCBA

Hydroflam® TN12 is available in liquid form (without VOCs or formaldehyde), odourless and colourless. It is ready to use. It can be coloured (powder dye or liquid acrylic) to obtain an aesthetic effect or traceability. The fireproof material, once dry, can be tinted but only with non-degrading products.

Prevents the spread of flames and fire and reduces the development of smoke.

Must be used in dry and closed indoor rooms.

Installation and preparation of the substrate

The substrate must be dry, free of dust, oil, wax, grease, dirt, resin, etc.

Hydroflam® TN12 can be applied in 3 ways on dry, porous substrate, double-sided:

  • By “refusal” spraying with a flat jet nozzle.
  • By soaking (total immersion in the flame retardant).
  • By scarfing (pay-off rate according to other treatments and desired results).

It is advisable to let it dry between 12 and 72 hours depending on the temperature and humidity, in a natural or accelerated way. A slight shrinkage of the fiber may occur.

Indicative returns

The consumption of Hydroflam® TN12 varies according to the nature, composition, mass of the substrate and the target fire classification. In general, the carrying rate of Hydroflam® TN12 must be around 30% of the mass of the substrate to be treated.

For example, to fire retardant a 200 g cotton fabric, 60 g of Hydroflam® TN12 will be required. The mass of the wet fabric before drying must be 260 g.
