Concerning these two standards, the European Euroclasses standards concern building materials and floor coverings for the whole of the European community, but the French standards, namely the “M” classification, remain valid for landscaping and decoration materials. There is an indicative correlation table that can only be read from left to right.

The Euroclass classification is a European evaluation system for construction products and materials. There are several categories in reaction and resistance to fire.

In reaction to fire, there are 3 main categories:

• Walls Ceilings
• Floor
• Roof

The French M classification (for Materials) remains a system in force for decorative materials and products.

Other materials (decorations and temporary protections)

Comments: Furnishing materials not covered by the DPC. These materials include: decoration, furniture, curtains and curtains, paint. They retain the old French “M” classification (reference to the standards of the NF p 92 500 series).

Construction products other than floor coverings

Comments: Classes A1 and A2, A2, A1fl and A2fls1 are assigned to very low-combustible products and correspond to the French class M0; in no case is there any equivalence between the Euroclass and M fire classifications, but only the degrees of own performance are classified in a hierarchical manner. They then give fire performance indicators without a comparative scale with each other.

Classes B to E, and Bfl to Dfl apply to combustible products formerly M1 to M4;

The Euroclasses provide for additional classifications:

• s (1,2,3) for the production of smoke (S).
• D (0,1,2) for the fall of drops and flaming debris (d for “drop”).
